Canan was born in Western Cape, where he attended Klein Boishaai and finished School at Boland Landbou high school in Paarl.
Moodie had a meteoric rise in development in his high school career, having made the U16A, but thereafter securing his spot in the Landbou First team.
His skills were highly recognised and further to that, earned himself a place playing in the WP Academy week. In grade 11 - 12, Canan was also included in the U19A team which was a big achievement at his age.
The school’s senior schoolboy rugby season was cut short due to Covid, but Canan managed to secure a professional contract with the Bulls which proved rewarding for his hard work and efforts on the field over the last few years.
Canan officially joined the Bulls in 2021 and has already made huge strides in being seen by senior coaches.
He was selected for the SA U20 team that triumphantly featured in the U20 international series and scored tries in every outing where he featured on the field.
Canan then returned to the Bulls camp, where he is preparing for the Junior Currie Cup and huge prospect to make senior debut very soon.
Outside of rugby he likes reading books, watching NFL and NBA and also likes watching series when he can.
Off the rugby field, he likes hiking and also tries his luck at a round of golf.
