His journey began to flourish at Glenwood High School, where he showcased his exceptional sporting talents and became a standout player for the renowned Green Machine.
Hendrikse comes from a family with a rugby background, with his younger brother, Jordan, playing as a flyhalf for the Lions. Jaden's own achievements and potential were recognized early on, as he represented KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) at the U18 Craven Week and earned selection for the SA Schools team in the U18 International Series.
In 2019, Hendrikse made significant contributions to the Junior Springboks at the World Rugby U20 Championship in Argentina, accumulating an impressive 41 points. In December 2021, Hendrikse committed his future to the Sharks by signing a new contract that will keep him with the team until 2025. This long-term commitment reflects the confidence placed in him as a rising star in South African rugby, and he will continue to develop his skills and contribute to the success of the Sharks and potentially the national team in the years to come.
