Another genius. A wild temperament and it sometimes shows, but it probably is a sign of the genius. There's no meanness in it; I am sure it just happens on the spur of the moment.

A brilliant student, a brilliant doctor and a wonderful rugby player. There you have Uli Schmidt in a nutshell. Sheer brilliance all round - there's nothing more I can say. The try he scored in the third test against the New Zealand Cavaliers in 1986 is proof of his class. One of the best hookers this country has produced, if not the best.
