PETER EDWARDS, better known as Pierre Edwards, was the third member of last year's Currie Cup Champion side honoured by South African rugby writers as one of the finalists for the Player of the Year Award. The lanky Edwards was a tower of strength in the triumphant side of the “Blue Bulls” and his accurate kicking and tactical and positional play probably made him the best fullback in South African rugby in 1978. Edwards, who is also a fine cricketer and table tennis player, is 1,93 m tall and weighs 82 kg.
