Sketch in 1997 SA vs Scotland programme

Justin Swart's form in the 1996 Super 12 competition earned him international recognition, winning his first cap against Fiji. A graduate of the Western Province team at Craven Week in 1990-91, Swart first toured with the Springboks last year and scored a try in both of his appearances in the midweek side. This season he claimed 14 tries and was named Player of the Series in the Nite Series, leading to his recall to the South African squad and he played as a replacement in the third Test against the British Lions. He was also a menacing figure for Western Province garnering eight tries as they reached the Currie Cup final.
