Marco van Zyl Wentzel worked wonders in an understrength Pumas pack last season to clinch Springbok selection. He has the aptitude to play at loose forward but was regularly used at lock in the Super 12 and Currie Cup. His line-out work and support play around the field makes him a valuable asset for whatever team he plays and he was a member of the South Africa Under 23 side that defeated Morocco to lift the African Cup last year. He has won two caps on this, his first Springboks' tour.
