Paddy Carolin played for Villagers. The remarkable aspect of his career was that even when he moved to Moorreesburg he could still influence people.
I remember when I was a student in 1931; whenever there was a problem Carolin was the one to be consulted.
Also a thinker, Paddy was wonderfully receptive to new ideas, worked hard on the correct application of those ideas, and it was fortunate indeed that he was on the selection panel of the 1906/07 tour to the United Kingdom.
That side and many others for many years after, learned a great deal from this outstanding player, captain, and powerful personality.
