Rudi "Vleis" Visagie is a former South African rugby union player, known for his role as a lock. Born on June 27, 1959, in Nelspruit, South Africa, Visagie had a notable career both at the provincial and international levels. He stands 1.98 meters tall and weighed 138 kg during his playing days, making him the heaviest player to represent South Africa at the international level.
Visagie started his provincial career with the Free State team in 1980, playing 109 matches over seven seasons. In 1987, he moved to Natal, where he played another 109 games over seven years. Later in his career, he also represented Lowveld and South Eastern Transvaal.
He made his debut for the Springboks, South Africa's national rugby team, in 1984 against England, playing in four test matches that year. His next and final test appearance came nine years later in 1993, in a match against France. Visagie was known for his strong scrummaging skills and ability to carry the ball well.
In addition to his international test matches, he also toured with the Springboks in Australia in 1993, participating in tour matches and scoring a try.
